Specifications:

Top: Solid Ezo spruce, known for its excellent tonal qualities.
Back and Sides: Initially, the L-8 featured solid Indian rosewood back and sides. In 1977, Yamaha transitioned to laminated Indian rosewood for the sides to enhance durability and reduce costs.
Fingerboard and Bridge: Crafted from ebony, providing a smooth playing experience and contributing to the guitar’s bright tonal characteristics.

The L-8 was produced at Yamaha’s Custom Workshop in Hamamatsu, Japan, under the supervision of renowned luthier Terry Nakamoto. This workshop was known for its meticulous attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship.
